“The In Between” raises an awareness of the lack of diversity in theatre for anyone of mixed race, Asian, or South American decent. Told through the perspective of Alice’s older sister Eve, we witness the downward spiral when facing the harsh realities of this world when privilege comes into play. Through Eve sharing Alice’s story of a hard working and young mixed race actress, we see how vital it is to lift up the voices of minorities that work twice as hard if not more with the hope of receiving the same opportunities. Through watching this film I hope to create a positive shift and new way of thinking to give room for inclusive casting in theatre and to ignite a fire within all of us for social justice and equality.
